It's big (although not too obtrusive), it supports up to four SATA I & II hard drive up to 2TB each. Yes, that's 8TB in total! The black aluminium casing looks really sleek and robust. Couple this with it's blue interface and you've got some serious piece of kit sitting on your desk. Never worry about your data as the Probox features a Power Sync button and quite literally at a touch, it'll backup all your pre-programmed data!The USB 3.0 interface gives you data transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps so its blisteringly fast - the USB 3.0 cables are included (don't worry if you don't have USB 3.0 yet because it will work with USB 2.0 as well but you'll be all set and ready to go when the rest of your systems are running at USB 3.0) The enclosure also has a nifty Smart Fan feature, this means the Probox will keep all your hard drives cooler than a block of ice! The Probox detects continued use/or when the HDD heats up with the built-in Thermal-sensor and compensates with adequate air flow, preventing any malfunction. The large fan can operate three different speeds and the Probox also features an override manual option, so you can set the speed yourself.
USB or eSATA? Well both, actually. Hotway have popped in a handy button called the One Button Interface Selection so you can choose which interface you need for optimum performance. USB transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps or with eSATA of up to 3.0 Gbps.
What Hard Drive(s) does it support? Any make, any model in fact. As long as it's SATA I or II and has a maximum capacity of 2TB (That's per hard drive). So you can host up to 8TB!
What about mounting your hard drives? The button on the front allows you to swing the front panel open in a draw-bridge-like movement... Simply slide in each of your hard drives firmly and power back on the device, simple.
