USB Hubs - USB 7 Port Hubs - Increase the number of USB ports on your PC

If you are running out of USB ports on your PC or Laptop then the simpliest way to add more ports is to use a USB Hub - whether you buy a 4 Port USB Hub or a 7 Port USB Hub they simply connect to one of your existing USB ports and provid new USB ports for your growing range of PC periperhals.

Four Port USB Hubs are typically available with or without an additional Mains Power Supply. Whether you need a mains powered version really depends on what you are connecting to the USB hub. If its lots of small, non-power hungry items like USB mice, USB keyboards, USB Card Readers, USB Flash Memory sticks etc, then typically a power supply won't be needed (even if you have X 4 devices connected at once) But, if you are connecting larger, power hungry devices like printers, scanners, USB modems, USB external Hard Drives etc then you are likely to need a powered USB hub. Even if you do buy a powered hub then the use of the power supply is optional - this means if you are travelling you can take it with you and use it for most items without the need for the power supply.

Seven Port USB Hubs are always supplied with a USB Power Supply because the power you draw from the USB port that the hub is connected to (500Ma max) is not enough to support x 7 USB devices.

We do sell a USB Combo Hub with USB and Firewire Ports but this needs both USB and Firewire inputs - it does not provide a "X-over" solution from USB to Firewire or Vice Versa.
